Three Farrell Area School District students are state finalists for the PennDOT Innovations Challenge. They came up with a technological device to build into the E-Z Pass to help monitor drivers' speed as they travel through construction sites in hopes of keeping PennDOT highway workers safe. Their idea is to insert a motherboard chip into the E-Z Pass which will monitor a driver's speed when going through work zones.
They will represent Farrell High School on Wednesday, April 10 in Harrisburg at the District 1 PennDOT headquarters.
