Junior Achievement
Volunteers from the Mercer Junior Achievement Board visited Farrell Area Elementary School fifth and sixth graders.

The fifth graders completed the "Our Nation" program which provided practical information about the need for employees who can meet the demands of the 21st century job market, particularly high-growth, high-demand jobs. Students completing this program will understand the skills, especially in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) that will make their futures brighter.

The sixth grade students completed the "It's My Future" program which provided practical information about preparing for the working world. Students learned about career clusters, high-growth jobs, career planning, and creating a personal brand. They also participated in a scavenger hunt which aimed to introduce them to the basic aspects of job hunting.
