Parents/guardians of Farrell students, in an effort to mitigate the spread of the Coronavirus, the Farrell Area Elementary and High School (grades K-12) will cease in person instruction and begin remote learning effective immediately. In person instruction will resume on Monday, December 7, 2020.
No extracurricular activities (athletic programs, student clubs, etc.) will occur during the closure period.
If you have any questions or need to retrieve any of your child's materials, please call the elementary school office at 724-509-1114 or the high school office at 724-509-1245 prior to coming to the building.
In addition, lunches and next day breakfasts will be available for students to pick up on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the following locations:
- Valley Baptist Church in Farrell
- Chavers Center in Farrell
- Wheatland Municipal Building in Wheatland
Update November 25, 2020: Remote learning will continue through Friday, December 4. In person instruction will now resume on Monday, December 7.
Update November 19, 2020: By order of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, effective at 12:01 AM on Friday, November 20, 2020, anyone who returns home from travel to other countries and states must have a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours prior to entering the Commonwealth or quarantine for 14 days upon entry into Pennsylvania. You must notify your building principal of any out-of-state travel before the student returns to school and provide the district with the date that the student returned to Pennsylvania. You must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 72 hours of the date the student returned to Pennsylvania in order to return to in person school.
