Face Covering Mandate

December 13, 2021 Update: Please see this article for an update to this ruling as a result of the December 10, 2021 PA Supreme Court ruling.

September 6, 2021

Dear Parent/Guardian:

As you are aware, the Acting Secretary of Health of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania recently announced an order Directing Face Coverings in School Entities which states “Each teacher, child/student, staff, or visitor working, attending, or visiting a School Entity shall wear a face covering indoors, regardless of vaccination status….”, with the exceptions listed in Section 3 of said Order.  This Order becomes effective tomorrow, September 7, 2021.

As a result of, and in an effort to be in compliance with the aforementioned Order, the Farrell Area School District will begin implementing mandatory face coverings for all teachers, students, staff, visitors, visiting workers, etc. on tomorrow, September 7, 2021.

Should you have any questions regarding this mandate, please contact one of the school offices or visit: https://www.health.pa.gov/topics/Documents/Diseases%20and%20Conditions/Order%20of%20the%20Acting%20Secretary%20Directing%20Face%20Coverings%20in%20Schools.pdf

Thank you in advance for your ongoing cooperation and support.
