Three Students Finalists in PennDOT Challenge
Farrell High School PennDOT Innovations Challenge finalists presenting their projectThree Farrell Area School District students are state finalists for the PennDOT Innovations Challenge. They came up with a technological device to build into the E-Z Pass to help monitor drivers' speed as they travel through construction sites in hopes of keeping PennDOT highway workers safe. Their idea is to insert a motherboard chip into the E-Z Pass which will monitor a driver's speed when going through work zones.

They will represent Farrell High School on Wednesday, April 10 in Harrisburg at the District 1 PennDOT headquarters.
