Code 4 Your Future

Farrell Area High School is excited to partner with the Shenango Valley Urban League and Youngstown State University to offer an after-school coding program. This program is open to students in grades nine through twelve. Students will be taught by a masters degree student from YSU's Computer Science and Information Systems Department. The lessons will aim to teach students about the fundamentals of coding.

Workers with coding skills continue to be in high demand by employers across nearly every field. Even those who do not intend to pursue a career in programming can benefit from coding courses. Understanding the fundamentals of coding leads to a better understanding of how technology works and can also strengthen math and science skills.

It is the goal of the Farrell Area School District to continue to add more opportunities like the Code 4 Your Future program. We are committed to expanding our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) curriculum so that we can provide more valuable opportunities to our students to explore and strengthen their knowledge in these critical fields.
