The Farrell Area School District
would like to thank the parents of our community for their support and
belief in public education. We would like to also ask for your continued support in
our effort to prepare young people, today, for their leadership role,
tomorrow. Please make education a priority. With it, most things are
possible.
CHIP has expanded. More children can enroll. Don't assume that you earn
too much to qualify.
All uninsured children and teens not eligible for Medical Assistance have
access to health insurance. It doesn't matter how much money your family
makes. Many will get it free.
Others, at low-cost. Learn about the
CHIP
Program.

Reminders
1. Please remember that students are not permitted to bring cell
phones, beepers, DVDs and MP3 players to school. The Farrell Area
School District has the right to confiscate and hold all audio and technical
devices which cause a disruption in the educational process of our schools.
In the event of an unforeseen incident, school administrators and other
personnel will contact you.
2. Please make sure that all students entering the Farrell Area
School District this September have updated records of their immunization
history. A copy of this information should be given to the nursing staff at
Farrell High.
3. All students in the Farrell Area School District are required to
have emergency cards filled out and available in the nurse's office.
This information will be extremely helpful in the event of an emergency.
4. In an effort to serve you better, please attempt to make an
appointment to see school administrators and other personnel. We would like
to make sure that we are readily available and can accommodate your needs.
5. The parents or guardians of students who are seniors this fall
should set up an appointment with the high school guidance counselor to get
clarification on graduation requirements and other opportunities after high
school. Students and parents should contact Ms. Roshelle Green, the new high
school guidance counselor or Mr. Keith Fustus, the new middle school
guidance counselor.
6. All student lockers should be locked to protect their school materials
and personal belongings. The Farrell Area School District is not responsible
for stolen items from lockers that have not been secured. Locks can be
purchased in the high school office. We do not permit students to use locks
that are not provided by the school district.
7. Students are required to have a medical excuse from a doctor's office
or the nursing staff of the Farrell Area School District before being
dismissed for medical reasons.
8. Read about the new
PSSA Intervention plan.
9. Please promote reading preK-12.
10. Please try to find a way to volunteer at least once during
the school year.
