News & Announcements - Tickets for the football team's playoff game at Wilmington High School on Friday vs. Sharpsville will be on sale in the high school office from 3-4:30 on Thursday and 1:30-3 on Friday. - The Farrell Area and
Sharon City School Districts are pleased to announce that we have applied
and are candidates for Cohort 6 funding for the Federal 21st
Century Community Learning Center grant program. The 21st
CCLC grant, if received will allow each district to provide after school and
summer programming to all students in grades 3‐12 who have been recommended
by teachers due to academic and social needs. The purpose of this program is
to provide a safe, drug‐free afterschool environment for students to enrich
their academic and social skills and learn more about the community in which
they live. For more information please contact the Office of the
Superintendent in each respective district. - Attention Seniors!! A Financial Aid Night will be held on November 21st, in the high school cafeteria at 6pm. Please Attend!! Contact Jordan Snyder at 724-509-1255 with any questions. - The Parent Advisory Group will meet on the 2nd Wednesday of every month. The next meeting is November 9th from 6-7pm in the High School Auditorium. - Yearbooks are available for pickup in the high school office. - Are you a Bucket Filler? Elementary event will take place Wednesday, November 9 in the cafeteria. Please contact the elementary office for at 724-509-1110 for more info and/or click here to view the form. - There will be a book fair in the Elementary School from Monday, November 7 - Friday November 11. Students will shop during their scheduled library time. On Wednesday, November 8 there will be Family Night from 6-8pm. - The football boosters are selling Steelers Football t-shirts and long sleeve t-shirts at every home game. T-Shirts are $8 and Long Sleeve Ts are $10. - The Farrell Area School District's June 3, 2011 Commencement exercises included a keynote address from Farrell High School alumnus Attorney Daryl Winston (Class of 1984) of Winston Law Firm, LLC. Mr. Winston is a prominent Philadelphia Lawyer and is a member of both the Pennsylvania and New Jersey Bars. After graduating from Farrell, Mr. Winston attended the Pennsylvania State University, earning a bachelor's in the administration of justice in 1988. He earned his law degree from the Ohio State University in 1991 and an LL.M in trial advocacy with honors from Temple University's Beasley School of Law in 2005. Mr. Winston was inducted into the Farrell Alumni Hall of Fame in 2008. In recognition of that, Mr. Cary Trivanovich, one of the nation's foremost speakers on bullying spoke to our students on November 22, 2010. (Click for Press Release) ![]() ![]() Congratulations to former volleyball coach Harriett Morrison, WPIAL Hall of Fame Class of 2010. From the WPIAL press release: HARRIETT MORRISON FARRELL GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL You’d need four hands to count all the WPIAL titles Morrison won as Farrell’s girls’ volleyball coach. She won 20 WPIAL championships and eight state championships. She retired a few years ago with a record of 554-59 and is one of the few women in the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. |
