In its 2007 School Restructuring Plan (SRP), Farrell High School has made a commitment to meet state and federal mandates by prioritizing the vital few areas of strength and areas of concern: teaching, pedagogy, leadership, and the school's day-to-day function. After an extensive Quality Review process which dates back to the fall of 2006, it has been determined that all decisions made at Farrell High School will be data-driven. We will use various pieces of information compiled from sources like the Pennsylvania Value Added Assessment System (PVAAS), E-Metric, 4Sight, PA-AYP, and the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) test results. Educational decisions will be prioritized based on the needs of our students, focusing on reading across the curriculum. The expectations of the SRP are basic: (1) clear goals and expectations for all stakeholders (2) instruction will be lead by data-driven decisions (3) reading across the curriculum will be mandatory (4) effective use of data will be emphasized (5) educators will teach with the end in mind focusing on eligible content (6) non-core-content educators will use "Adopt an Anchor" to implement math and reading We have high expectations and lofty goals that need to be met in the 2008 PSSA test scores. As a result, we are asking for your help as a parent, community member, clergy, business leader, and concerned citizen. It takes an entire community to raise a child. Therefore, we encourage and welcome any support. Please become actively involved with Farrell High School. One critical element of involvement is understanding data or test score information.
